Directions

We'll be traveling to and from the wedding and reception in the car you see on the left. If you need help finding either place, we have provided some instructions here.

Below you will find directions to all wedding event locations. If you should happen to get lost on the wedding day (October 4, 1997), you can call the Direction Help Line - set up especially for Steve and Carol's Wedding. Regular toll charges will apply.

From Chicago’s Southwest suburbs: Take The Stephenson (I-55N) to Lakeshore Drive N. Take Lakeshore Drive N for 5.5 miles to Fullerton Parkway. To get to the Lenox Suites you will exit Lakeshore Drive at Illinois/Grand Street exit. (More directions to Lenox Suites on Hotel direction sheet) Exit Fullerton Parkway W (you can only go W). The Church is at 530 W Fullerton Parkway less than a mile from Lakeshore Drive. You can park on the street or in the church parking lot behind the church. To access the parking lot go 3/4 mile from Lakeshore Drive past Clark Street. There is a GAP store on the corner. As you pass through Clark Street look for an alley on the right about 100 yards up, opposite Cleveland Avenue. Take a right down the alley and an immediate left down the next alley. You will see the Church as you proceed down the alley. If you park on the street you may notice "zone 143" signs. These signs restrict parking after 6pm so they will not apply during the wedding.

From O’Hare Airport - Take I-190, the airport exit, to I-94, The Kennedy Expressway. Take The Kennedy Expressway East, "To Chicago (the Loop)". Exit The Kennedy at Fullerton Avenue west or left, going towards Lake Michigan. The time from O’Hare to the Fullerton exit off of the Kennedy is about 20-30 minutes. Follow Fullerton for approx 5 miles to the Church which will be on the left. The church is at 530 W Fullerton Parkway and you can park on the street or in the Church parking lot. To access the parking lot, pass the Church (on your left) and take the alley opposite Cleveland Avenue. Take a left down the alley and an immediate left down the next alley. You will see the Church as you proceed down the alley. The time from exiting the Kennedy onto Fullerton to the church may take up to 20 minutes depending on traffic so figure around 45 minutes total travel time. If you park on the street you may notice "zone 143" signs. These signs restrict parking after 6pm so they will not apply during the wedding. Cabfare from O’Hare is about $30.

From Midway Airport - Exit the airport and go left/north. This is Cicero Avenue. Take Cicero Avenue approx 3 miles to I-55N, The Stephenson Expressway. Follow the directions above in #2 - "From the Southwest suburbs". Cabfare from Midway is about $25. The ride is about 25 minutes.

From Michigan - Take I-94W through Michigan and Indiana. I-94W comes right into Chicago. Stay on I-94 until exit #53C "To Lakeshore Drive". (A landmark you may notice before you get to this exit is Comiskey Park, the baseball stadium, on the left near 35th Street.) Taking exit #53C will guide you to Lakeshore Drive N or S. Go North. Take Lakeshore Drive N for 5.5 miles to Fullerton Parkway. Exit Fullerton Parkway W (you can only go W or you will be in the Lake). The church is on Fullerton Parkway about a mile from Lakeshore Drive and you can park on the street or in the Church parking lot. To access the parking lot, take Fullerton Pkwy 3/4 mile to just past Clark Street (a GAP store is on the corner). As you pass through Clark Street go 100 yards and look for an alley on the right, opposite Cleveland Avenue. Take a right down the alley and an immediate left down the next alley. You will see the Church as you proceed down the alley. If you park on the street you may notice "zone 143" signs. These signs restrict parking after 6pm so they will not apply during the wedding.

From Auglaize County - The trip from Auglaize County is about 5 hours with no stops. Look at a map before you leave so you get a feel for the trip. The majority of the time you are on Rte 30 W which is a 4 lane highway. Warsaw, IN is the halfway point and there are plenty of fast food joints in Warsaw as well as along the way. My directions give you an option of taking the new by-pass around Fort Wayne. As long as you watch the signs for 30W after you have gone around Fort Wayne, you will do fine with the bypass and save about 20 minutes. Otherwise you can stay on 30W all the way through Fort Wayne. The next tricky part is on the other side of Indiana where you need to watch for signs for the Indiana Skyway. Bon Voyage!

Take 30W to I-469 (about 25 miles). I-469 is the new outerbelt around Fort Wayne.

Take I-469/30W around Ft.Wayne. Watch the signs so you don’t miss where 30W eventually cuts away from I-469. You are on the bypass for about 20 minutes before 30W breaks away. Take 30 W for about 2.5 hours through most of Indiana until you hit Rte 49N. This is before Valaparaiso, IN and after Wanatah, IN. Landmarks before Rte 49 are Orville Redenbacher’s headquarters and a Starvin Marvin gas station.

Take 80/90 to the last toll in Indiana ($.45). You will automatically get dropped off onto 90W.

Take I 90W and look for signs indicating the Chicago Skyway. You need to get on the Chicago Skyway. Do not take exit 21 which is I-80.

Take the Chicago Skyway all the way to I-94W. This takes about 35 minutes (in good traffic) and there is $.50 and $2.00 in tolls along the way. Enjoy the view and odors (steel mills)! The Skyway ends by dropping you onto I-94 so you can’t go too far on the Skyway.

Continue on I-94W toward Chicago. Stay in the lanes"local lanes". As you are on the "Southside of Chicago" for safety reasons don’t get off I-94.

Taking this exit will guide you to Lakeshore Drive N and S. Take Lakeshore Drive North for 5.5 miles to Fullerton Parkway. To get to the Lenox Suites you will exit Lakeshore Drive at Illinois/Grand Street exit. Click here for directions to the hotel from Lake Shore Drive.

Exit Fullerton Parkway W off of Lakeshore Drive (you can only go W or you will be in Lake Michigan). The church is at 530 W Fullerton Parkway and you can park on the street or in the church parking lot which is behind the church. From Lakeshore Drive N, exit at the Illinois St. /Grand Ave. exit. This is the Navy Pier exit. This exit loops around and takes you down to Navy Pier before turning west and heading towards the city. Grand Avenue is a one-way street heading W. Take Grand Avenue W for approx 1 mile to Rush Street. (If you get to State St. you are too far) Turn right on Rush Street and go 3 blocks. The hotel is on the left on the corner of Rush St. and Ontario St.

Transit time is 20 minutes. Take Rush Street N 1 block to Erie Street. Go right on Erie 1 block to Michigan Avenue. Go left on Michigan Avenue and stay in the right hand lanes. Michigan Avenue will end at Oak Street (Drake Hotel on right) and you will need to get on the Outer Lakeshore Drive. By staying in the 2 right lanes on Michigan Avenue you will be guided onto Outer Lakeshore Drive. Take Lakeshore Drive north for 1 mile to Fullerton Parkway. Exit Fullerton Parkway W (you can only go W). The Church is at 530 W Fullerton Parkway less than a mile from Lakeshore Drive. You can park on the street or in the church parking lot. To access the parking lot go 3/4 mile from Lakeshore Drive past Clark Street. There is a GAP store on the corner. Traffic will probably be heavy on Fullerton on Saturday morning. As you pass through Clark Street look for an alley on the right, opposite Cleveland Avenue. (Wave to Carol’s apartment on the corner of Fullerton and Cleveland!) Take a right down the alley and an immediate left down the next alley. You will see the Church as you proceed down the alley. If you park on the street you may notice "zone 143" signs. These signs restrict parking after 6pm so they will not apply during the wedding.

The reception is at a restaurant/jazz club named Green Dolpin Street. There is no street named Green Dolphin, the restaurant is on the corner of Ashland and Webster Streets. Take Fullerton West (away from the lake) to Ashland Avenue. Go left on Ashland over a bridge to Webster Street. Turn right on Webster. The entrance to the parking lot is on Webster just past the restaurant on the right. The address is 2200 N. Ashland. Phone 773-395-0066.
